Book Design

What it says on the spine: This book examines the mutating technological infrastructures of typesetting built on the Latin alphabet, while taking a broad view to examine non-Western typographic systems and histories, suggesting alternative approaches and avenues for more research. It favors specificity over completeness and is a snapshot of an ongoing process of research organized around our interests. This book was assembled by Faye Arranz, Victoria Beyrard, Anna Blyumenkrants, Han Bao, Jieun Han, Grace Huang, Chris Kim, Rosie Mai, Yingjie Wang, Shiyao Wu, Tong Wu, Xin-Yi Isabelle Yu, and Yixiao Zhao, in the context of T y p e s e t t i n g, a course initiated by Andrew LeClair at Parsons School of Design, The New School, in New York.

Much of the text and imagery in this book is borrowed, and throughout, we have made every effort to accurately cite our original sources.
